TRIANGULATION SURVEY

Triangulation survey is the tracing and measurement of a series or network of triangle to determine distance and relative position by measuring the length of one side of each triangle and deducing its angle and length of other two side by observation from the base line.

1-PRINCIPLE OF TRIANGULATION

If the length and direction of one side and all the three angles of a triangles are measure precisely then the length and directions of a remaining two sides can be determined. The precisely measure first line is called the baseline.

The field book of triangulation is following operation:

a) reconnaissance

b) station preparation

c) base line measurement

d) measurement of angle
